My husband and are are blessed with 1 daughter, Jaden Beatrice Balaski. She is currently 8 years old and in 2nd grade at Salem School. Jaden is a budding artist and designs the AGAIN! AGAIN! coupon/postcards consignors and customers receive via mail.
WHY DID YOU NAME THE STORE AGAIN! AGAIN!?
I opened AGAIN! AGAIN! in August of 2002 when my daughter Jaden was 2 years old and obsessed with the Teletubbies. When something would happen on the show they found amusing, the Tubbies would squeal, 'AGAIN! AGAIN!' and Jaden would do the same. Nothing could ever happen just once. Only over and over. I thought it would be an appropriate, easy to remember, inside joke/tribute to parents.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 50/50 ACCOUNT AND THE 60/40 ACCOUNT TYPES?
By agreeing to spend your portion of the proceeds at AGAIN! AGAIN! you receive and extra 10% incentive. Otherwise you may choose the 60/40 and use your proceeds as credit in the store or get paid out in cash (check over $20.00). You may change your account type at any time.
HOW DO YOU PRICE ITEMS?
Larger ticket items are priced at 1/2 of the lowest price they retailed for originally. Clothing is priced according to what the item is, what it is made of, what size it is, where it was sold originally, it's original price point and it's cuteness factor. Whew! I'm tired.
WHAT DO YOU NOT ACCEPT FOR CONSIGNMENT AND WHY?
Most items we don't accept because of legality and liability. Items such as cribs, car seats, mattresses, recalled items and those identified as possible problems by the CPSIA compliance handbook. Other items have just proven over time as unsellable such as infant bath tubs and linens. And finally we scrutinize items for stains, missing or broken parts and style. Although we don't have a seasonal rule (hey this is New England, tropical vacations in February and cold nights camping in June happen), we encourage consignors to bring in seasonally relevant items so they have the best chance of selling for top dollar. All of this work by AGAIN! AGAIN! staff leaves only the best of the best for sale that customers can buy with confidence.
WHY DO YOU ONLY SELL MATERNITY AND CHILDREN'S ITEMS?
Unlike 'family style' stores that sell a little of everything AGAIN! AGAIN! specializes in maternity and children to age 14 (approximately) in order to have the best quality and variety of items while also being the most informed regarding them. We believe this results in un-paralleled consignor and customer service.
WHY DO YOU ONLY ACCEPT 25 ITEMS PER CALENDAR MONTH? AGAIN! AGAIN! works with over 600 consignors. In order to give every consignor the opportunity to make money each month we limit the number of items each can bring in to sell. Otherwise, with the thoroughness with which we process items, staff may only get through one consignor per day or per week even!
